Mars mission: cosmic collision on materials

We study processes at the nanometric scale that determine damage by solar and cosmic radiation on space missions. We focus in two areas: proton damage in solar panels used in ships and space vehicles, and damage by protons and secondary electrons of low energy in biological material, applied to astronauts in future mission to Mars.
