Conference on Spin-orbitronics & 3rd Orbitronics Workshop
SPIN & ORBIT is a merged event bringing together experts from around the world in the fields of spintronics and orbitronics.
The first part of the event, will deal with phenomena such as spin-charge conversion, spin-orbit torques, skyrmions and nano-oscillators, all topics explored in the EU-funded training network SPEAR (Spin-orbit materials, emerging phenomena and related technology training), which comes to an end this year. Project participants and external invited speakers will present advances in this field on Monday and Tuesday.
The second part of the event will host the 3rd Orbitronics Workshop, where focus will shift from spin-orbitronics to the closely related field of orbitronics, the emerging next-generation device technology that aims to use the orbital current as an information carrier. Thirty invited speakers will take part in the workshop and poster contributions will be presented in a dedicated session on Thursday afternoon.
We are pleased to host this merged event in the beautiful city of San Sebastian, located in in the Basque Country, on the north coast of Spain. Famous for its cuisine, its beaches and Parisian-inspired architecture, Donostia is also a city of science, ranking among the top 200 scientific cities in the world and 4th in Spain. Join us and take it all in from 30 March to 4 April!
