Social Security and Health System
The Social Security is made up of a series of public organizations directed at guaranteeing all citizens with economic assistance and/or health care.
In the Basque Country, the Basque Health entity is Osakidetza – Basque Health Service (www.osakidetza.euskadi.net) linked to the Department of Health of the Basque Government. Its jurisdiction is the Basque Autonomous community and its activity is oriented at promoting health, preventing illness, and treatment and rehabilitation.
Registered workers and their families can request a Personal Health Card that accredits citizens with their health care. The European Health Card also guarantees the same standards as received by locals.

Language
