Medical microdevices have been demonstrated for a variety of non-invasive biomedical applications, such as tissue engineering, drug delivery, and assisted fertilization, among others. However, most of these demonstrations have been carried out in vitro or in ex vivo tissues, differing from the clinical scenario. Thus, medical imaging techniques with high spatiotemporal resolution and advanced feedback control are required to operate such microrobots in complex biological environments to reliably perform their intended function.
