Summer Internships
Every year, we offer undergraduate students the opportunity to participate at our Summer Internship Program.
Grants of 500 €/month are offered to 3rd and 4th year Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Engineering students for projects from 1.5 to 2 months.
Research at nanoGUNE is primarily centered around 3 main strategic areas: Quantum Nanoscience, Nanomaterials, and Nanomedicine, which are being conducted in 10 research groups:
- Nanomagnetism
- Nanooptics
- Self-Assembly
- Nanomedicine
- Nanodevices
- Electron Microscopy
- Theory
- Nanomaterials
- Nanoimaging
- Nanoengineering
Application instructions
Candidates must apply online by 11 February 2024 and must upload their CV and Academic Record.
Students are welcomed to upload language certificates.
Preselected students will be asked for an interview towards the end of February or the beginning of March, and selected candidates will be contacted no later than 13 March.
Candidates must apply in English and some interviews may also be conducted in English.
In the registration form we request a weighted average grade (WAG) out of 10 points and out of 4 points.
Calculation of the WAG out of 10 points: Multiply the grade obtained (X) in each subject by the number of credits (P) of the subject. Sum the results of all subjects and divide it by the total amount of credits evaluated.
WAG = Σ Xi·Pi / Σ Pi
Example:
- Subject 1: Grade 2 - 6 ECTS
- Subject 2: Grade 1 - 8 ECTS
- Subject 3: Grade 3 – 6 ECTS
WAG = 2·6 + 1·8 + 3·6 / 8 + 6 + 6 = 1.3
Calculation of the AWG out of 4 points: The same formula applies here, but equivalencies would be as follows:
- Approved = 1 point
- Very good = 2 points
- Excellent = 3 points
- Honorary tuition = 4 points
DISSEMINATION MATERIAL
- Vertical poster (use preferably printed on boards)
- Horizontal poster (alternative use for screens)
